Green Life on Black Space
Life survives in the dead colonies, which further finds its journey to death. While the broken leaf still survives its greenery it speaks of the texture of death. Alas its gonna be a dried leaf.

That day in the lane
That day in the lane, while we came out of our ancestral house, I was waiting for my dad to explain me the story of their times. This place was very old, still in the same condition and very few reasons for my dad to forget anything. His dad (my grandfather) was a kid while they ran a grocery shop in that lane. A place in Gujarat, called Manar. Fading memories.

Textured Bats
While visiting Kashmir any tourist would be excited to visit the world famous Kashmir Willow Indian Cricket Bats. We were also surprised to see the mass manufacturing of Cricket bats at these local Kashmiri factories. This is one of the major occupations of Kashmiris. Since the tourism has taken a hit due to terrorism at Kashmir, very few local vendors are able to export their manufactured units. Even though I am not a big fan of Cricket, I some how managed taking interest to know the minutes of how a cricket bat is created, and believe me the process undertaken to create the world class hand made cricket bats was simply exciting.

While I was sitting there
Going down the memory lanes of my ancestral place at Gujarat, while I was sitting there – near a road side shop owned by my ancestral cousins – who run a local kirana store – I found the vibrations of being teleport’ed into the era of 1940′s while my great grand fathers were born and brought up in those lanes. And my great grand parents running those shops during the British times. Felt really nostalgic about a fantasy story line visualizing my self in some reincarnation at that age.

GreenLand with horses
The soccer ground without real footballers. And ideally a real fun would be sleeping overnight on a ground with the green carpet like this (make it a camping ground) and may be even enjoying the stargazing on a open sky such as this. The most exciting things come in wonderful places with wonderful people. Wish this gets really accessible place for nomads. Its way to far at Pahalgham and called as the Mini Switzerland. The plateau at the top of the mountain range.

Fishing Out
One our way to Pahalgham, Martand temple at Mattan near Anantnag – there was this “SURYA TEMPLE”, a huge bunch of army personnel and tightened security – ruined the hopes of people praying for peace. This area was deserted with very limited sets of people (mix of hindu and muslims) loitering around the temple. Very few people with limited activity. The place seemed to have lost its charm. Peace in the air was evident, silence in the temple was prevailing. But all I feared was the peace in their minds. I was striving and searching eyes to see if I could find glee in their eyes, but all in vain. People were heavy hearted – leading their life. Really in anticipation of tourists to make them survive their bread and butter.
And thats where I made a small shopkeeper earn some bucks – while I fed these fishes.

Stand out
The rule of 1/3rd and 2/3rds while taking a picture perfectly gets reinstated in this example, a blanket of green meadow and a plateau on the heights of Kashmir at Pahalgham. A giant sleeping on this carpet would never wake up. Its a heaven in itself.

Maple Leaf (Chinnar Leaf)
This was an experimental black and white shot of the maple leaf. The famous “Mohobbatein – the movie” leaf.. I was surprised to spot this leaf and was happy to be lucky with this experimental shot. A little more color saturation could have made it great. Let me know your comments.
